What is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized. Students can keep track of what's due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.
All students have access to Google Classroom and all teachers have a Google Class. Please ask your student to show you all of their Google Classes and how to access class information. The following link is a preview of how Google Classroom works.

PTSA News from the President

Thank you to everyone who came out last night to the PTSA meeting and ice cream social.
We are always looking for new members, the cost to join is $8.00.  What does is mean to join the PTSA? It doesn't mean you have to do anything but support us, or you can always give a hand or two when you can.  Middle School students really need us more than you think, and for that matter more than they think.  Just us being present on the campus from time to time, means a lot.
PTSA is not just about fundraising, it is a lot more.  This year we have helped at school dances, we built a haunted house for the students at the Halloween dance(free of charge with admission to dance), sold school spirit shirts at events for Mr. Hernandez, provided donuts each week for the donut patrol and so much more.
If you would like to know more about the PTSA and how you can make a difference, please let me know.  Shira Smith, PTSA president.  I can be reached at soccrcoachss@yahoo.com.

Attendance Awareness Month

Attendance-Logo-400.png

Scorpion Parents & Students,
As we all know, student attendance plays a major role in the development of students throughout middle school. Students who are on time and at school everyday gain every opportunity to grow socially and academically.
As such Chase Middle School has introduced the Attendance Donut Patrol. Every so often the Donut Patrol will be carrying three dozen donuts around campus during first period. The first class with perfect attendance during first period will win! Be on the look out for more attendance incentives throughout the year.

Please view the attachments below for more helpful tidbits.
